Ian Constantinides examines the use of traditional lime plaster and explodes some popular myths and misconceptions.

    While the stylistic development of plasterwork through the ages is well documented, the history of pre-Victorian plastering technology is relatively little researched. Sources lack real detail on the craftsman's materials and methods of working. Millar's authoritative textbook, 'Plastering Plain and Decorative' is a bible to most, but is limited in that it describes state of the art lime plastering relevant only to Victorian and Edwardian work.
